SDec started San Diego’s first ‘Action Center’ tackling child poverty, making local, state, and federal advocacy accessible to busy San Diegans.
Co-leading the Equitable Learning Taskforce
Together, we produced the Beyond the Hotspot Report which helped inform funders both in and post-COVID on students’ and families’ needs.
Co-leading the Children First Collective San Diego
As co-lead of the Children First Collective San Diego, helped lead the successful advocacy for an infusion of over $52M dollars into the local child care economy.
After two decades of advocacy, and alongside over two dozen other child and youth-focused organizations, SDec helped lead the call for the creation of the City of San Diego’s first Office of Child and Youth Success.
SDec helped lead in the creation of San Diego County’s first Child Care Blueprint. The Blueprint is part of San Diego’s new strategy to reimagine how to serve families and support providers.
